Giving to The Arc through a Bequest
If you have thought of making a charitable
gift to The Arc of Massachusetts but hesitate to do so because you want to be
assured that your children and loved ones are well taken care of after your
death, you may want to consider a bequest or gift through your will. A
charitable bequest may be structured in many ways. You may choose to leave a
specific dollar amount, a particular piece or property, a percentage of your
estate, all or a portion of "what's left" after relatives and friends
are taken care of, or a combination of the above.
If you have established a Special Needs
Trust for a family member who is disabled, you may wish to name The Arc of
Massachusetts as beneficiary of any assets that remain in the Trust after the
death of that family member. This approach enables you to provide for your own
family and also make a significant gift to The Arc of
Massachusetts.
