The mission of the Governmental Affairs Committee is to represent the interests of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families for legislative matters. The Committee is composed of individuals, families and Arc staff who craft annual legislative priorities and review statutes and regulations on a state and federal level. The Committee is vested in arranging public testimony at legislative hearings, planning the annual State House receptions, and organizing campaign strategy. Through its advocacy efforts, the Committee has helped to achieve significant legislation, funding, and programs on the state and federal levels.
The Arc of Massachusetts Governmental Affairs Committee has developed legislative advocacy tools to assist individuals in their advocacy efforts.
